MANGO AND ACAI BOWL // 31/08/15 BY SOPHIE

Fact: Being able to have 'ice-cream' for breakfast is pretty rad.

I usually just stick to mango, but I have a packet of acai powder sitting around in my cupboard, and I figured that it would taste a lot more interesting if I added a second flavour to the mix. Turns out, it really did. This 'recipe' is really very easy, and once you get the basics down, you can play around with it and add in your own favourite flavours. It's all about preference really.

You'll need //

Two large handfuls of frozen mango (to be honest, I don't really measure out my ingredients. It all depends on how hungry you are. Throw in a few more chunks if you're feeling particularly peckish.)

A large handful of frozen raspberries

1 tsp acai powder

1 tsp maca powder (optional. But it does make the mango taste super creamy and delicious.)

Around 150ml almond milk (substitute any dairy free milk)

+ All the toppings you can possibly imagine

You're also going to need some sort of blender or food processor. I have a Nutribullet- not ideal for this recipe actually. Because the fruit is frozen, it doesn't blend up very easily. Basically, the Nutribullet does half the work, and I do the other (lots of crazy shaking and stirring and more crazy shaking goes on.)

Throw all the mango, maca powder and almond milk into the blender and blend it all up until it's really smooth- just like ice-cream.
Spoon half of this first batch out into a bowl.
Add the raspberries and acai (You could also add a splash more almond milk if you're mix is looking a little lumpy)
Blend again, and tah dah!

Top with anything you like. {pictured; chia seeds, nectarine, blueberries, flax seed, wheatgerm, kiwi and goji berries}
